General Course Opening Times

Newington Armory, site of the Sydney Olympic Park Disc Golf Course, is open weekends only. Rental discs, maps and scorecards are available at the Visitor’s Centre down by the wharf at the entrance to the Armory.

Please check the Sydney Olympic Park website for the latest details on opening times and special events that might mean access to the disc golf course is limited.

Sydney Disc Golf Club League

The Sydney Disc Golf Club will be holding it’s next league beginning Sunday February 21st 2010. The league consists of 5 league days with prizes for each day along with prizes for the overall league winners. The league uses a sport-specific handicapping method which levels the scores between beginner and advanced players. This means every player will have a great chance of scoring some swag. Players of all abilities are welcome, especially newcomers (there will be discs available to lend on the day).

Upcoming 2010 League Schedule:

• Sunday 18th July
• Sunday 15th August – “Prison Break” Tournament
• Sunday 19th September
• Sunday 17th October
• Sunday 21st November – Last Day

Each league day will consist of two rounds of play. Registration will be at 10.15am sharp, tee off shortly after, second round starts at 1pm. You are welcome to play either one or both rounds.

Fee: $5 for the day and an optional $2 if you would like to enter the ace pool.

First place for the league is a disc golf bag filled with 5 discs of the winners choice. Each league day prize pool will consist of golf discs, DVD’s and other disc golf apparel.

“Come and try disc golf” clinics

Come along and have a go at this great sport that is a bit like golf but a with a Frisbee. Try to complete each hole in the least number of throws. A member of the Sydney Disc Golf Club team will be on hand to lend out discs, guide you with the rules of the game and provide some instruction on throwing techniques. For the more experienced player it’s a great time to meet up with a few golfers and play a friendly round.

There are two sessions:

• 10am – 11am.
• 11am – 12 noon for juniors (12-17 years).
