The Sydney Disc Golf Club will be holding it’s next league day on Sunday March 14th. The league uses a sport-specific handicapping method which levels the scores between beginner and advanced players. This means every player will have a great chance of scoring some swag. Players of all abilities are welcome, especially newcomers (there will be discs available to lend on the day).
Each league day will consist of two rounds of play. Registration will be at 10.15am sharp, tee off shortly after, second round starts at 1pm. You are welcome to play either one or both rounds.
Fee: $5 for the day and an optional $2 if you would like to enter the ace pool. The ace pool currently stands at $248.
First place for the league is a disc golf bag filled with 5 discs of the winners choice! Each league day prize pool will consist of golf discs, DVD’s and other disc golf apparel.
Hope to see on Sunday.

Tee Signs and Notice Board Approved for the Course
The club is very excited to announce that Sydney Olympic Park has approved a proposal submitted by the club to install A3 sized tee signs for the course. The tee signs will go a long way to improving the playability of the course for new and casual players.
A notice board has also been approved which will display the disc golf rules and regulations for the course along with a course map. With the large number of casual visitors to Newington Armory this will be a great boost to the visibility of the course and our sport.
We are currently in the design phase for the signs and I will post an update with photos when the signs have been installed.
First Wednesday of the Month Afternoon Access to the Course
The club has access to the course the first Wednesday of every month. We meet in the carpark and access the course at 3.30pm sharp. The next Wednesday we have access is the 3rd of March. Please contact the club if you are interested beforehand as we need to enter the Armory as one group.
2010 Sydney Disc Golf Open Update
The 2010 Sydney Disc Golf Open will be held on the 26th and 27th June and is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting Sydney Open events yet! Put the dates in your diary as this is an event not to be missed.
We are excited to announce that the Newington Armory Lodge will be available for the Sydney Disc Golf Open. This is a unique opportunity to stay in accommodation situated ON THE COURSE! Wake up each morning and warm up from the Lodge’s balcony and be assured of staying with the other disc golf competitors. We had great reviews when the Lodge was last used for the 2008 Australian Disc Golf Championships. Further details regarding costs and bookings will be available soon.
Disc Golf Team Building Sessions
The club has received numerous requests to run disc golf sessions for both corporate and social groups. The sessions are proving popular as corporate groups are looking for team building activities however have restricted budgets due to the current economic business environment and the club can tailor sessions for individual groups at an attractive price point. If you have interest in helping out at one of these sessions please let the club know. Alternatively consider the option of having a disc golf team building afternoon for your workplace.
Happy throwing!
